Milan Fashion Week Highlights

Hello My Fashion Lovers! 

Today I wanted to do a recap on what went on at the Milan Fashion Week, with a trend review. I'm going to begin with my favorite show of all Dolce and Gabbana. Red and Gold were the color of choice for these two designers and royalty was their inspiration, they made sure their runway was glamorous and luxurious with their amazing designs. One of the best Collection of MFW. 

Is very important to say that red for next year is going to be a must-have color in your closet. As you can see a lot of designers are using this color for their Spring 2014 Collection, like:  Thakoon, Prada,Gucci, Alberta Ferretti, Tod's, Max Mara, Fendi, Bluemarine and many others. 

Here are some of the styles you will see in stores next year:

• Flowing and fFeminine: Many collections were a celebration of feminine form and elegance, making 2014 a good year for the fashionista who's a girly girl at heart. Dresses featured fabrics with fluid movement, thanks to shoulder-to-floor capes, tiered layers and skinny pleats. V-necks and/or exposed backs provided a dose of modernity and sex appeal.

• A smattering of sparkle: Like a shimmering sunset, some designers wove in shine with beaded detailing and metallic fabrics. What was missing, however, was the abundance of heavily sequined selections, a staple of wardrobes in recent seasons.

• Monochromatic brights: It appears color-blocking could take a backseat next year to colorful solids. Primary colors were prominent, with the occasional full neon look (e.g., lime and orange, red, mostly), resulting in a rainbow parade down the runway. At the opposite end of the color spectrum, pastel hues -- icy blues, mints, citrons, lavenders and powder pinks -- infused styles with sensuality and softness.

Fashion Week Beauty Looks! Spring 2014

Marc Jacobs:

Makeup artist Francois Nars  gives models edgy and unforgettable cat eyes in a rich teal shade (NARS Eyeliner Pencil in Kalisté, to be exact.) "This is a summer look that's all about the eye," he said. "Most of the girls have a teal blue line, but some have royal blue, extending past both the inner and outer corner." Redken hairstylist Guido Palau followed suit, tricking models out in punky wigs with jagged, irregular cuts.

Calvin Klein:

At first glance, the makeup at Calvin Klein may seem simple and fresh-faced. But take a closer look: models’ lids were dusted with a sheer swipe of bronze shadow, giving their faces a sculptural, ethereal glow.

Michael Kors:

Tousled, romantic, and just plain sexy, hairstylist Orlando Pita created undone updos with rumpled tendrils framing the face.

Rachel Zoe:

Models rocked chunky French braids courtesy of Antonio Corral, who made sure they were fuzzy, nearly frizzy, and anything but perfect.

Rodarte:

Odile Gilbert, working with John Frieda, painted the undersection of models’ hair with a tweed-like pattern to echo the Rodarte collection. Starting with dry hair, she created a front wave with a large barrel curling iron, then parted the hair deep on the side, pinning it back to be sure the tweed showed. To finish, she pinned the sections of hair from both sides into a loose twist.

Badgley Mischka:

Tom Pecheux gave models a delicate aura with a diffuse wash of sky blue shadow up to the brow bones; hair was rolled into softly rumpled updos by Peter Gray.

Carolina Herrera:

The dresses were billowy and diaphanous, but the updos were structured and architectural thanks to hairstylist Orlando Pita. In a play on the French twist, he tightly rolled the hair upwards from the base and pinned snugly in place.

Pamella Roland:

To channel '60s French film stars, makeup artist Matin Maulawizada wanted models to look sexy and a bit smudgy, like they just rolled out of bed and put lipstick on. To create the effect, he blended brick red Laura Mercier Rouge Nouveau Weightless Lip Colour in Mod with rosy Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lip Colour in Brigitte. As for the hair, Ted Gibson gathered thoroughly teased, bumped-up strands into rough side ponys.

Ground Zero Spring 2014 Ready To Wear

GROUND ZERO SPRING SUMMER 2014 PARIS

For their third season on the catwalk as Ground Zero, Philip and Eri Chi turned to blossoming adulthood for their inspiration. But this robot-fanatic, cartooned-reared duo would certainly not turn out some shy violet. It was a visual clash of past and future as smart sportswear competed with chic little space-age numbers for attention. 

It was sexy and it had flair, as displayed in a transparent sweater and its “modesty” panel, hiding away only the smallest possible amount of breast. A sheer printed varsity jacket atop a peplum dress, and similar sporty elegant offerings such as an impeccable shirt and matching trousers, give a good indication at how spot on the brothers are in their cuts. The color palette chosen for prints, involving a large amount of white, felt like a playful riff on all-over flora. Gradually, the blooms gave way to prints depicting the poster girls of the space age, interspersed with sheer stripes.

This is their most striking collection yet, and one that displayed how far they have progressed. Certainly, thicker fabrics, lending their weft to the exercise, helped smooth away the bumps that had plagued previous seasons. But more than this, it displayed a growth that augurs well for the future. And with that in mind, it was easily to excuse the perhaps too-literal “space age” full frontal prints of android women and space rocket contrails that adorned the final group of dresses. “Ground Zero” they may be, but this time around, they’re standing on a firmer foundation.

Eduardo Rivera 2014 Collection

Rivera says the success of the collection lies in the right combination “a product that in the Spanish market does not exist: comfortable clothes and functional, but elegant and classy” t individualistic.

Artists have more fun is the name of his fall and winter collection, which the leading Madrid retailers have banked on this season. 

The designs are more fitted and are tailored for a smaller man.”  Style and practicality are always present in his design premise. The current collection is also very contemporary, with it’s mixture of fabrics and colors. And very flattering for any man, thanks to tailor’s eye and the neat cut of jackets, coats, shirts or pants. The collection is dominated by shades of blue, gray, brown and black.

The key is that his product is reasonably prices, striking the right balance in quality, value and design. In addition, it has some very interesting pieces, like the reversible sports jackets. “My jacket, for example, can be safely put in the suitcase, you don’t need to carry a suit bag, putting it in your suitcase doesn’t spoil it.

Paris Fashion Week it just begun

PARIS  FASHION WEEK

Runway season for the spring 2014 collections is still going strong. Milan Fashion Week  just end this Monday, September 23th  and Paris Fashion Week starts Today Tuesday, September 24th and runs until October 2nd.

It's the official start of Paris Fashion Week! The designers who show in Paris stage the final runway spectacles of the season (following NEW York, London, and Milan), so it stands to reason that this provisional calendar of shows in the city of light is the most anticipated for fashion editors, bloggers, and street style stars.

And while Paris collectively has the last word on the international fashion scene, the biggest house that will get the final say is Hermès — seen above — which will show at 5 p.m. on the final day of Paris Fashion Week. Herein, a look at the full Paris schedule.
